Winter Term International Studies Lunch Talks
Happy Winter Term everyone! You’re back, we’re back, and the lunch talk series is back – we hope to see you all there!
All of our lunch talks this term will take place in 348 Prince Lucien Campbell Hall. Snacks and coffee/tea will be available, and the talk will begin at 11:15am and go until right about 11:55 (if you have class at noon, that should give you time to rush over!). We will follow the talk with an information discussion and Q&A period, too. We hope that you will come by, grab a drink, chat with peers and professors, and learn something new!
Dates for the lunch talks are:
- January 26th – International Studies MA student Maria Pomes Lorences will give a talk about Catalunya’s independence movement
- February 9th – Leslie Opp-Beckman will lead a discussion titled: “The Why and How of Online Ed at UO”
- February 23rd – International Studies Professor Angela Joya will give a talk about her recently field work on the refugee/migrant crisis in the Mediterranean region
- March 9th – International Studies Professor Derrick Hindery will present: “Export Credit Agencies, Neo-extractivism, Indigenous Rights and the Environment in Bolivia’s Chiquitano Region”
