Emilee Ohia, M.A. — 2016

Emilee Ohia was asked to be the M.A. speaker at the Spring 2016 International Studies commencement ceremony. She graduated with concurrent M.A. degrees in International Studies and Public Administration.

Emilee works full-time for U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley in his Eugene office. She hopes to continue working at the federal level and eventually aspires to do legislative and policy research – as a part of a congressional staff. Emilee is also considering advocacy work for immigration policy and immigrant rights.

Her future plans are to move to Washington DC in pursuit of both her and her husband Uche’s goals. Uche Ohia graduated from the UO Law School in spring 2016.
